Florence and Pisa

It will take about 1 hour to get to Florence, Unesco World’s heritage site, the queen city of renaissance, a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, a top hill terrace, from which you enjoy a breathtaking view of the city, is a must. From here it’s 10 minutes drive to reach the city center, a very compact area, where you can stroll and get in a few minutes at the main highlights, la Cattedrale (Chathedral) the main and most magnificent church, Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) with its tiny gold shops, Piazza della Signoria, the centre of political power, also at the Medici time, and the imposing Palazzo Vecchio (City Hall), the many museums, among many, the Uffizi Gallery, one of the major in the world, and the Accademia, where the Michelangelo’s David is housed (reservation is mandatory to skip long waiting line, I can do that for you), Santa Croce, the church where Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo are buried, and so on… Being in Florence is a golden opportunity to do some shopping. This city is well known for its handicraft, especially leather goods, and gold items; you can find so many shops here, where to buy genuine hand made products, along with the major fashion brands shops as Cavalli, Prada, Armani, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana etc. A good lunch, to taste typical Tuscany dishes will crown your visit here.
On our way back to the ships, we’ll detour via Pisa, and stop at the miracle fields, to admire the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, and Baptistery.
